Abby Mangel is the Graduate Assistant of the English Language and Literature Program at St. Mary’s University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in philosophy and English from Trinity University and only suffered minimal psychological damage during those four trying years.
She is a rock ‘n’ roll journalist currently writing a Master’s Thesis on Bob Dylan’s Nobel Prize in Literature. She hates Charles Bukowski, although she is admittedly one hell of a dame. She sometimes writes fiction.
She created this blog as a part of an assignment for a graduate course on American Romanticism. She borrowed its title—“your very flesh shall be a great poem”— from the preface to Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman.
